SUMIA releases new single, ‘Do Not Entra’

DJ, producer and VOLX Records founder SUMIA has released her latest single ‘Do Not Entra’ on the Spain-based label MIWS! RAVE.

SUMIA has collaborated with the Berlin-based Italian musician Lady Maru on this project. Speaking about the release, she says: “When I first met my beloved dear Lady Maru, she was playing at a club, I was very impressed with the music she made cause her sound pretty close to mine and she had very unexpected mix. We have established a good friendship recently as our sound is close to each other. For me, it is very important for the artists to get to know each other on collaborative tracks. Because communicating with one another from a distance with Lady Maru, an Italian producer, was a really challenging but at the same time beautiful process. While my vocals and synths were used on ‘Do Not Entra’, Lady Maru’s strong analog drum infrastructure really gave the track a dark and underground feel. We can say that our love for analog raw synths united us. In my opinion we finally achieved the sound we wanted with 5-6 revisions minimum after the finished our track ‘Do Not Entra’. Then we just checked the labels which has sound fit with our track and made a deal with very successful Spanish record label MIWS! RAVE. Right after this release, we had so nice feedbacks from the listeners and then we started working on a new track with dear Lady Maru.”

Looking back on her career, SUMIA says: “I can say that music has been a passion for me since my childhood. I started playing the drums and then the saxophone in the first years of high school. I was a young heavy metal music lover back then. I used to play saxophone and drums from time to time and have fun with some famous songs with my band and perform live in some small side street clubs. I think my musical ear developed at a young age thanks to playing the drums. My passion for electronic music, which started as a raver, soon continued as a producer with an interest in analog instruments. Now, as a DJ performing in many parts of the world, I can easily say that my passion for techno music is my whole life.”

In addition, SUMIA has recently released another new track titled ‘Dark Room’, included in a four-track VA compilation ‘Stronger & Together’ released by her own record label, VOLX. This release was intended to aid children affected by earthquakes, giving rave enthusiasts another slice of her captivating work.
